How long does a natural tan take to fully develop?

I am Italian and Spanish, so I tan VERY quickly (not intentionally… just from being outside even with sunblock I tan like crazy). But, I’ve purposely stayed inside all summer (for 5+ years now) due to allergies. Suffice it to say that I am now pale as a ghost! Well, I laid out today for about an hour on my stomach and an hour on my back, and I’m not really dark. Also, I tend to tan very BROWN, not orange or golden in the slightest. This was about 2 hours ago… and I’m wondering, how long does it take for a tan to develop? Is there still hope that it’ll get darker over the next few hours? Because I’m not planning on laying out ever again (or at least not for a few years), and I can’t use sunless tanner (allergic to it).

I go tanning in a salon (not reccomending it haha) and it takes 2-3 days for my skin to completely darken if I don’t do another tanning session.
